Our mission is to protect and preserve the rights of animals and their owners and assist the owners in meeting their responsibilities to properly care for their animals.
We serve the public by providing pet owners with good information and guidance on animal welfare, socialization, treatment, breeding, health, and training of animals.
PAWS (Pennsylvania Animal Welfare and Safety) is a group of pet breeders who are dedicated to helping the industry by providing guidance in areas such as pet safety, marketing, public relations, and legal requirements. We believe that pets should be treated humanely and with respect. We work to provide our members and the industry with tools and education so they can meet and exceed state and federal standards.
"PAWS has given me the educational tools and energy to do my best with overall kennel management by providing more interaction with other breeders. I’m also excited about the KAP program because it will help us help each other through a peer to peer evaluation, which in turn will result in better socialized pets."
